Using Norand Mono with Eurorack (MK1 with Firmware2.0)

Any advice on how to syncronise Norand Mono with Pamela’s PRO Workout? I tried using the clock input and set midi clock to CV by choosing C but it’s not working. What kind of signal is Mono expecting? And how to make Norand start when clock signal is received?

Also would be nice to know which output to use if I want to send a clock out to for example the DFAM. I tried it long time ago and remember there was some workarounds.

All advice highly appreciated!

For just one part of your questions, try using page D instead of C. Some older documents don’t have the same updated info for all settings. Check the Shortcut Sheet, AKA Cheat Sheet, under Advanced Settings | Project.

Thank you Hans303 form answering. Using PAGE D did the trick although the clock is out of time. Right tempo but starts late to be in sync. Anyone had luck making this work well with eurorack?

  • CV [PAGE D] : Mono uses its CV clock input as clock. In this mode, each step is triggered by an incoming pulse signal at the CV clock input, and the pattern restarts everytime a pulse is received at the reset input.

It seems to work fine for me with the original Pam.
Check the Offset setting in Pam.
Are you driving Mono and DFAM from the same pulse on Pam?

Actually I’m sending a pulse from PAM’s to Mono, a clock signal to Metropolix and a trigger to Basimilus Iteritas Alter. Mono is running late.

I found it’s always better to use a single clock source and multiply it.
But, possibly it’s a Mono’s issue.

Singe clock source in this setup would be the Pamela’s Pro Workout that is sending CV clock to all places. I could also use Mono as the main clock by sending fro it via midi to my modular. Or just use the ER-M Multiclock.

I meant a single Pam’s output multiplied, even if just for testing.

If your Mono has a delay in responding to the clock I would be contacting Norand directly.
And just a thought - are you sending a square pulse with no offsets?

Hi, yes I was using a square pulse with no offsets also tried running the clock through a buffered multiplier. I have sent a message directly to Norand bur have not yet received any answer. I will try all this again when I get home from my trip and write again :upside_down_face:
