Has anyone successfully used the Mono with a USB->15V converter cord and USB power pack? Are there any issues I should be aware of before acquiring the necessary equipment? Thanks.
Definitely ensure you have at least 1A of current in your adapter.
That’s what the wall adapter says in its fine print, so I was planning on at least that, but sometimes there are startup surges. I was just wondering if there were any success stories out there, or any cautionary tales.
Ah, haven’t tried my Mono but never heard of any reliable brands frying Elektron devices, worst case you can power the battery first to the usb device then connect the adapter.
I was not so much concerned with frying as with the device simply quitting. I’ve had no problems with my Elektron devices (most have wall adapters rated at 2A but draw 1A or less), but I don’t have a 15V cord (they are 5V and 12V). Probably I’ll just order the 15V cord and see what happens. There are now PD power banks which provide a great deal of power, and if I decide to buy one of those, I probably won’t have any problems.
How did your choice work out?
It worked fine. I haven’t used it that way for an extended period of time yet; I just tested it on arrival.
